I am a 4th year graduate student in the Department of Astronomy at the University of Virginia. My main research interests relate to the interaction between AGN and their environment and the triggering of AGN activity and star formation through mergers. I primarily work with Aaron Evans on mergers. I have also been working with Mark Whittle on jet-gas interactions in Seyfert galaxies. In May 2006 I graduated with a BS in Physics from The Rochester Institute of Technology. In May 2009 I completed a MS in Imaging Science (RIT) and a MS in Astronomy (UVa). While at RIT I worked with Chris O'Dea and Stefi Baum. My research focused on the properties and host galaxies of powerful Radio Galaxies, using optical, infrared and radio datasets. Previously, I have done time-series photometry on Cataclysmic Variable stars at the RIT Observatory as part of the Center for Backyard Astrophysics program. |
