I’ve uploaded more pictures from the Astronomy Ironman to my flickr page. I recently received my developed slides, and once they’ve been scanned in, I’ll upload those as well. In the meantime, more star trails (and a few cloud pictures) are available.

Additionally, when we returned from the trip, another grad student and myself went up to Fan Mountain Observatory and shot some more star trails. We were hoping to catch the meteor shower that night, but were unable to record any meteors due to clouds. However, we did get some good pictures, which are also online:

Less than week until the UVa Astronomy Ironman begins… In the space of a week we’ll be visiting a few world-class telescopes, labs, and even doing some astronomical observing of our own. The list of places we’ll be visiting is quite impressive:
It should be an awesome trip. I should have intermittent internet access and will attempt to post updates here. Pictures should be forthcoming. I have visited the VLA and KPNO before, so it’ll be great to go back. This time I’ll get actual tours and be able to see more stuff, which will be pretty sweet.
