This morning was the Darfur 5K charity run in Charlottesville. All proceeds and donations went to Doctors Without Borders, to assist with their efforts in Darfur. It was a decent run, winding through grounds and a nearby neighborhood. It was quite chilly this morning, -8C when I woke up, warming to somewhere around freezing the time the race started.
The course had some gradual hills, but nothing quite as bad as the one in my subdivision. There were a fair number of people racing, perhaps around 100? Mostly appeared to be college students, with a few other folks thrown in. I finished 57th overall (15th-ish in my age group?) with a time of 26:48. I haven’t been running much lately, and 30 minutes was my goal, so I was happy with that result.
Always nice to spend sometime in the morning running in the sunshine, even if it was chilly.
