The NRAO is hosting an interesting workshop on Black Hole Astrophysics later this week. The focus will be on future high resolution radio observations (ie – with the Square Kilometre Array) and gravitational wave observations (ie – with LISA). The discussions and talks will generally focus on merging black holes and the expected signatures in both gravitational waves and in electromagnetic radiation. Additionally, there will be some talks on high resolution observations aimed at direct detections of both active and quiescent black holes. I’m looking forward to it!
